From Lynn Koberna, one of the S.T.R.M. organizers in Dallas/Fort
Worth, to participants: "Thanks for taking on this S.T.R.M. thing
in a big way. It was an honor for me to introduce you to my dear
friend, John Canaan and his creative assembly of some very, very old (as in
ancient) stuff, sandwiched in with his musical/magical/spiritual gifts.
I get so blown away when I see friends let go of the past, and experience the
new freedoms that come from sending the message of who they truly are,
all sorts of unexpected and wonderful things happen. You probably saw me
grinning through much of the workshop. I was anticipating what's going to
happen in everyone's lives in the very near future. You can't explain it and
neither can I. It's a miracle. And you saw it right before your very
eyes."
The
"Sending the Right Message (S.T.R.M.) Personal Agreements:
1) Define and Align (Hold a vision and Make “A Choices”)
2) Choose
the Path of Objectivity (Make a choice, not a habit - Make a choice,
not an end run)
3) Serious Offers Only. (Create love
through boundaries)
4) Give Love vs. trying to get it.
(Love vs. control)
5) Heal the Real Wounds (Balance and
healing vs. confusion and/or addiction)
6) Show up as Your Real Self.
(Overcoming the "Mahana Rebellion")
7) Assist Others in Seeing Who They
Really Are (and find the greatest part of you)
8) Choose the Path of Most Opportunity (Love and growth vs. running)
9) Open Your Heart to Possibilities
(There is no past. There is only love)
*John Canaan is best known for his rendition of You're Not Alone on
Michael McLean's "You're Not Alone" CD and the male vocals on
the Together Forever video. John is also known for his regional
#1 hit song What If I Loved You? (1983) and for If Not Love
(currently playing on FM 106.5 in SLC). John's experience with
presenting workshops began at BYU as a guest lecturer for Dr. Elmer
Knowles. John studied Family Science at BYU and completed all the
classes in his major. Since then, in addition to his singing, John has
done hundreds of hours of relationship coaching and spoke to groups
throughout the country on relationships. John also worked as a full
time "life coach" with Dr. Denis Waitley's "Winning For
Life" team in Salt
Lake. John is the
presenter of the STRM (Sending the Right Message) workshop and has written a

"This workshop touched me in a way that I can't even begin to share. The
message and music along with the spirit will be everlasting... I now have
additional tools in which I can develop relationships for the rest of my
life, in all areas (i.e., work, family, etc.) I can trust myself to develop
the kind of relationships I want! As I made personal agreements, I felt
confident... I feel peace in a way that I haven't for many years....
This workshop was a true investment for my soul!" - P. Bills
